Disadvantaged Community Involvement Program (DACIP) was approved as part of Proposition 1 in 2014. Guidelines were developed by Department of Water Resources (DWR) in 2016.
The goals of DACIP are:
- Strengthen relationships and engagement with DACs and develop long-term working relationships.
- Identify new DACs and engage them in relationships and opportunities.
- Support and engage DACs in watershed planning, identifying water-related needs, and ultimately working together to assist them in developing needed project plans.
- Assist/support DACs in securing potential State and/or local funding, if and when available.
